Sponsorship Announcement – Pimpama Pelicans

In more fantastic news for the NBL1 North competition, we would like to announce that junior club side, Pimpama Pelicans, have agreed to be a Silver Partner for season 2022.

The Pimpama Pelicans club was created in 2018 due to the overwhelming growth and demand in the northern corridor of the Gold Coast, with their membership base exploding in 2021, becoming the Association’s third largest clubs.

2021 Volunteer of the Year, Lia Taleni, and husband Carl along with their committee members, have done an outstanding job of picking the club up and creating an environment that is inclusive, and a culture of putting back into the community.

General Manager for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, Dwayne Vale, shared how proud he is of the Pelicans club.

“For a club that has really only existed 3 years, and the work that Lia and Carl have put into it, is nothing short of exceptional,” said Vale.

“Between themselves and their committee members, they have worked tirelessly to grow their junior membership base 50% for the last three seasons, brought on multiple sponsors and created a family-focused club that is now in the position to partner with our NBL1 program”

“It’s the old saying that volunteers make a great Association, and with the family-focused committee that Pelicans have, I have no doubt they will continue to go strength to strength for years to come”

President for the Pimpama Pelicans, Lia Taleni, couldn’t hide her excitement for the upcoming season.

“I’ve been with the Seahawks now for close to 10 years and the Association hasn’t been in a better and more exciting position than it is currently” said Taleni.

“I’m just really proud of everyone, not just our Pelicans family, but the entire Seahawks family, for how we’ve come together to get through some tough times but now get to shine on the big stage of the NBL1 competition”

“It’s going to be great to be able to get our coaches and volunteers the opportunity to come in and watch the game, socialise and be around our great people”
