The North Gold Coast Seahawks are pleased to announce that Erin Riley has re-signed with our NBL1 North Women’s team for 2023.
Riley impressed many with her play, making her a priority to have back again.
The now-20-year-old averaged 13ppg at 39.3% from the field, 4.3 assists per game, along with 7.17 rebounds per game.
Head Coach Brad Kann had nothing but praise for Riley,
“Erin is one of those players you always want on your team as she makes all other players better. She is an elite decision-maker and passer, with the ability to light up the court with her shooting. We are thrilled to have her returning for us in 2023.”
When asked about her decision to return to The Nest in 2023, Riley said,
“When I arrived at Seahawks for the 2022 season, I was immediately made to feel part of this club. The culture within the Seahawks is very family oriented, especially in how the junior clubs and NBL1/QSL teams support each other. Our Seahawks NBL1 inaugural season was really promising, we had many good wins, and the culture was fun and energetic.”
What does success look like in 2023 for Riley?
“Obviously, winning the NBL1 North Championship is number one on our team agenda !!
Success for me is to be a major contributor, offensively and defensively, and always be a team first player. Our Team success will continue to grow and develop from its inaugural season. We had a solid start in 2022, and with the 2023 season around the corner we will keep working on our team-first attitude to achieve even better results. The club has shown huge support and will keep developing our family culture, showing our upcoming juniors that there is a great pathway to playing here at the Seahawks.
