QSL Preview - USC Rip - July 24

This Saturday night looks to be the biggest game of the season for both the SmartSkill Seahawks Women and Seahawks Men’s sides, facing a desperate and fighting USC RIP at the Nest.

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women can lock up home court advantage for the finals with a win over the USC RIP Women, who they beat only a fortnight ago by a whopping 44 points.

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women will need to better their performance against Gold Coast, where they shot the ball poorly and lost the rebound count to the smaller and younger Rollers outfit.

Head Coach for the SmartSkill Seahawks Women, Brad Kann, will be hoping his team can emulate their performance from a fortnight ago.

“We had our best offensive output against the USC RIP team and probably our best overall performance” said Kann.

“We want to hit finals at the peak of our game, and we will be starting with that mindset this Saturday”

“We want to reward ourselves and our home crowd with the opportunity of watching finals basketball at the Nest and if we perform the way we know we can, we should be able to lock that away this weekend”

The Seahawks Men will be looking to take revenge against a USC side that defeated them by 14 points just fourteen days ago, with head coach Jordan Mullan wanting his side to take that defeat personally.

“With the way the ladder is currently standing, we need not only to beat USC on Saturday night, but we need the overall split against them for the opportunity to host finals as our Women’s side is looking to secure” said Mullan.

“We obviously won’t get too caught up in the point difference, with our main focus being victory, but if we can compete and play at the level we did last week I believe we can do some damage in this game”

“This next three weeks of basketball is huge, not only for our team but for our overall association and as Brad said, we want to reward not only ourselves but our faithful home crowd with some finals basketball played at home”
