The SmartSkill North Gold Coast Seahawks Women’s NBL1 team are pleased to announce the signing of dynamic forward Doniyah Cliney for season 2022.
Cliney, standing at 182cm, has most recently been playing in Sweden for IK Eos where she has been posting some stellar stat lines, averaging 19.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, along with 2.2 steals each outing.
Prior to her time in Sweden she enjoyed much success at University of South Carolina, highlighted by an NCAA Division 1 National Championship her sophomore season in 2017.
Cliney expressed her excitement to coming to Australia to join the Seahawks.
“I can’t wait to get to Australia and the Gold Coast and join the team for the upcoming season”.
“After speaking with Brad I knew this was the right fit for me. I look forward to meeting everyone and showing what I can do”
Head Coach for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, Brad Kann couldn’t help but smile when talking about Doniyah coming to join his group.
“We are beyond excited to be adding a person and player of Doniya’s calibre to our program.”
“Cliney will bring much needed athleticism at the position and allow us to be very disruptive defensively. Her productivity on the glass at both ends of the floor will be a great addition as well.”
