Josh Duach joins Seahawks in 2023

The North Gold Coast Seahawks are thrilled to announce the signing of Melbourne United Development Player, Joshua Duach for NBL1 North 2023.

The 19-year-old formerly played in the NCAA with the Iona Gaels under legendary coach Rick Pitino, where he helped his side to a 25-8 record as a freshman. Then going on to ink a 2-year deal with Melbourne United.

Duach played as a Development Player for NBL23, with United holding an option to elevate him into a full-roster spot for the following season. A strong campaign in the NBL1 competition this season will no doubt go a long way toward Josh getting that roster spot.

Duach feels that North Gold Coast is the best spot for him to do that in 2023.

"I signed with NGC because I felt like they were the best fit for me and my play style (defence and get out and run in transition)"

He is looking to help push the Seahawks as high up the standings as possible.

"For the team I just want to compete as much as we can and compete for a top spot"

"Personally I want to become a better leader and build more pro habits on and off floor".

Head Coach Luke Mcguire feels that Duach is going to bring a lot to the group.

"We are very lucky to have secured Josh for the upcoming season. Josh is an elite defender who can guard multiple positions."

"He is also a crafty offensive player who can play out of pick and roll and create for others. Josh has fit in with the group straight away is great value to our culture"
