The North Gold Coast Seahawks are pleased to announce the transition to a new committee, following the recent Annual General Meeting. While expressing heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing members—Rob Sleaford, Andrew Price, Anthea Donovan, Leigh Whinwray, and Natalie Greenaway. These individuals have contributed countless hours of dedication and effort, making numerous sacrifices to ensure the long-term success of the club. Their commitment to the Seahawks’ growth and sustainability over recent years has been invaluable, and we thank them for their tireless work.
Our incoming committee members bring a wealth of experience across various areas, including our club, representative, official, and school programs.
Over the past few weeks, the new board at North Gold Coast Seahawks has been hard at work to ensure that 2025 will be a year of significant growth and success for all members of the Seahawks family. We are committed to providing more opportunities for people to get involved in basketball at every level, from grassroots players to seasoned athletes.
Our focus is on enhancing the program offerings, with improvements across all areas, including coaching, refereeing, and official development. We are also dedicated to expanding educational pathways, ensuring that coaches, referees, officials, and players have the resources they need to grow and succeed.
Additionally, we are taking a renewed approach to supporting our clubs and the dedicated volunteers who play such a crucial role in overseeing our programs. Their unwavering commitment is vital to the continued success of our community, and we are working to ensure they receive the support they deserve.
We are also seeing a remarkable increase in community and corporate engagement, which will further strengthen the Seahawks’ ability to create lasting and meaningful connections within the North Gold Coast region.

Founded on the core values of community, family, and inclusivity, North Gold Coast Seahawks remains committed to ensuring that every person in the region has the opportunity to participate in basketball. Whether you're a player, coach, official, or volunteer, our club will continue to offer pathways for development and achievement, just as we have for notable Seahawks like Jack McVeigh, Katie Deeble, Tara Manumaleuga, and Alex McEwan.
As one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, we are uniquely positioned to offer basketball programs for all ages and abilities. We aim to create a welcoming environment where every individual feels part of the Seahawks family, and we are committed to serving our members, their families, our clubs, schools, and the greater North Gold Coast community.
Together, we look forward to continuing to strengthen our legacy and ensure the growth of both our club and the sport of basketball in the years to come as we move forward.
Lastly and most importantly we would like to thank all of our members for your continued efforts whether you're a parent/guardian helping get your child(ren) to training and games each week and allowing them the opportunity to be involved in the great game we all love. Our referees and officials who spend countless hours honing their skills and quite often go unnoticed or without a thanks, to the work of the tireless volunteers - coaches, managers and club officials who make countless sacrifices to make sure the children are prepared and on the floor each week. Our corporate and community supporters who make considerable contributions to give more people in our community the opportunity to be part of basketball through our programs and pathways. You are all Seahawks members, no matter what your role or uniform you wear, nor the club or school you may represent each week, you are all Seahawks and we look forward to you being part of what we have planned for 2025.
Have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year and holidays.
