UNDER-8 Mini-Ball Competition
U10-U20 JUNIOR BASKETBALL COMPETITION
Competition for Everyone
Our Junior Competition caters for boys and girls of all skills and levels of experience from Under-10 to Under-20 age groups. With two full length competitions seasons, players can hoop all year long. We also offer four Under-8 seasons every year.
Click here for more information about the Under-8 age group.
Who Can Play?
The Seahawks Junior Basketball Competition caters for boys and girls from around 6 years of age though to 19 years of age. Youngsters either come through our Swooper Hooper programs, or join a club directly.

U8 Mini-Ball Competition is played on a school term-by-term basis. Games are played on lowered 8.5 feet hoops and with only 4 players per team on court at one time. Boys and Girls competitions will be held if numbers permit, otherwise teams will be Mixed. This competition does not play finals or record a ladder. The season concludes with an U8 Encouragement Day where all teams participate. For more info about U8 Mini-Ball Click Here.

U10-U20 Competitions play a full length 8-month season, from February to September. We will then transition to a Summer season (Terms 4 & 1) and a Winter season (Terms 3 & 2).
When Are Games & Training?
2025 will have Season 1 (Feb to Jan) and then transition to Summer and Winter season. No games are played over the Christmas/Summer Holidays, or the middle weekend of Term Holidays.

Games are played over four competition days at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre & Runaway Bay Indoor Sports Centre (at times when Coomera is unavailable). See below for which age groups play on each day.

Clubs arrange their own training sessions. Teams will generally train once per week. Your club can provide up-to-date information about training, season to season.
What Are The Costs?
North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball endeavour to make basketball as affordable as possible. See fee schedule below. This covers all games and training, and also covers costs such as venues, referees and administrative costs. Fees may either be paid in full upfront, or with an upfront payment, followed by 1 more instalment later in the season. A more detailed explanation of the breakdown of fees view the full details of the current season below.

Players will also require a uniform. Clubs arrange their own uniforms and costs vary. Clubs should be contacted directly.
Who Do We Play For?
North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball have a number of member clubs servicing the entire northern and central Gold Coast region. Players are free to play for any club they choose, as they may have friends that already play, but we try to direct players to clubs based on the school that they attend.
Movement between clubs requires a Clearance to be completed and is generally done between seasons unless extenuating circumstances exist. See the table below to see which club your school is aligned to.
