, the Seahawks mens SBL team has had outstanding success in recent years. Making the Grand Final
in 2009,2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 they have been champions in 4 of those 6 years.
Previously known as D-League (Development League) the Southern Basketball League provides an avenue for high-level competition for young developing players, players at their pinnacle, and players who have stepped down from elite competition.
SBL runs from May to September each year, and is open to Basketball Queensland affiliated associations in south-east Queensland.
SBL is a strong and competitive league in its own right, and also serves as a key launchpad for young players looking to move into the QBL and beyond.
