About Aussie Hoops

Aussie Hoops is the fun and exciting national program for introducing children to basketball.

The Aussie Hoops program uses a “game sense” approach where children learn basketball through playing lots of games and activities.  Aussie Hoops is for all boys and girls up to 12 years of age and ALL abilities!  Basketball is a fantastic sport that can be played all year around, indoors or outdoors and you don’t even need a hoop!

What Aussie Hoops Kids Do

There are plenty of activities for the children to do. Coaches use handy session plans provided through their school or association. These types of resources plus many more make it easier so that parents or older brothers and sisters can run the program as well! The children are having so much fun, they don’t even realise they’re learning!

Programs are aligned to the school terms.

What Does Aussie Hoops Cost?

New Participants pay a registration fee of $93.50 (varies slightly depending on term length) for a school term.  Players receive an Aussie Hoops participant pack which includes a basketball, bag, and singlet.  Players that are re-registering and do not require a new Aussie Hoops participant pack pay a registration fee of $67.50

Aussie Hoops After School Program

We also run Aussie Hoops After School programs in schools right across the Gold Coast region.  Coaches come to the school to deliver the 8-week program for students who choose to be involved.  Registration for these 8-week programs is $85, which includes the Aussie Hoops Participant Pack.  For more information about having an After School Program run in your school, email aussiehoops@seahawksbasketball.com.au
