The Gullotta Orthodontics Junior Basketball Competition is THE PLACE to play basketball on the Gold Coast!  Based at the Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium and Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, boys and girls from all over the Gold Coast enjoy a weekly club basketball competition which caters for any skill level.

Registrations are now open for the upcoming Winter Season which commences on Thursday 3rd May and Saturday 5th May.  Under-13 and younger age groups compete on Saturday mornings with Under-15 to Under-20 Boys and Superleague Girls age groups playing on Thursday evenings.

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you register right away.  Many players missed out in the Summer season as Club’s teams were filled in record time.  Our now not so little association is experiencing tremendous growth.  Our clubs are run by volunteers, most who have demanding day jobs so this growth increases the strain on them in preparing for the upcoming season.  Countless volunteer hours go into getting a new season prepared so the best way you can support your club is to register right away.

Our clubs are always looking for more volunteers, whether it be coaches, team managers or assisting with club admin.  Volunteers are what make all of this happen so if you have an hour or two a week you could give please get in touch with your club and record areas you can volunteer form in the player registration form.

Who do we play for?

North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball have a number of member clubs servicing the entire northern and central Gold Coast region.  Players are free to play for any club they choose, as they may have friends that already play, but we try to direct players to clubs based on the school that they attend.  Movement between clubs requires a Clearance to be completed and is done between seasons unless extenuating circumstances exist.

Venues

Competitions will be held at the following venues for the 2018 Season.

U15-U20 Boys & Girls – Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium & Coomera Indoor Sports Centre (once available post-Commonwealth Games) – Saint Stephen’s College also used in 2018 due to Commonwealth Games

U9-U13 Boys & Girls – Coomera Indoor Sports Centre (once available post-Commonwealth Games) & Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium until then.

2018 Winter Season Calendar

U11-U20 Competitions play a full length 6-month season beginning in May and concluding in September. (slightly shorter due to Commonwealth Games)

U9 Mini-Ball Competition is played on a school term-by-term basis.  Games are played on lowered 8.5′ hoops and with only 4 players per team on court at one time.  Boys and Girls competitions will be held if numbers permit, otherwise teams will be Mixed.  This competition does not play finals or record a ladder.  The season concludes with an U9 Encouragement Day where all teams participate.  See details for 2018 Term 2 U9 Mini-ball competition here.

Registration

New players are welcome and encouraged to register online.

Those wishing to register with a Get Started Voucher cannot register online and need to contact Nichola Harris on admin@seahawksbasketball.com.au

Existing players have received an email inviting them to re-register online.

Costs

Online registration provides members with the option to register from the comfort of home or on the go either on a computer or mobile device.  Members also get the benefit of avoiding unneccessary queues.  Almost 98% of our members already register online.

As mentioned above, those who register with Queensland Government Get Started Vouchers however must register in person.

Game Fees

Those electing to pay Game Fees in instalments will be required to make each payment by the due dates listed below.  The system will send out reminders for each payment.  Payments are to be made online via the registration form used to sign up for the competition.  You will require your EMAIL and PASSWORD in order to make these payments.  You can access this form by clicking here.

1st payment – with registration due 15/4/2018
2nd payment – due 31/6/18
3rd payment – due 17/7/18

Basketball Queensland Registration

All participants must also be currently registered with Basketball Queensland.  Basketball Queensland registration is valid for 1 year from the time you pay.  If you are a new player and you are registering online YOU MUST register with a Club AND also register with Basketball Queensland by purchasing  “Basketball Queensland Registration”. In 2018 Basketball Queensland Registration paid at another association is now valid across all Queensland affiliated associations.

2018 Rates are:  $62.44 BQ , U10 Member $31.22 BQ

Uniforms

Gold Coast Wildcats and Pimpama Pelicans uniforms are sold by North Gold Coast Seahawks.
Uniforms are available at the front desk at Runaway Bay Indoor Stadium during competition hours.  Some clubs manage their own uniforms and prices may vary.  Check with your club for further details.

CAC, SSC, Coombabah Clippers, Helensvale Hurricanes & Coomera City Warriors manage their own uniforms.  Contact them directly to arrange a uniform.

Age Groups

Competitions in each age group are pending sufficient numbers.
